Ace day for the Yr 7-9 Secondary Alternative Sports Day 2020

On the 11th February 2020, secondary school Yr 7-9 students from schools across the county took part in our Secondary Alternative Sports Days. The event was held at UEA, Sportspark, which saw students from the eight School Sport Partnerships take part in a variety of activities. These activities included hourly-rotated sessions of Killer Tennis, Skateboarding, Dance Exercise and Box Fit. Each activity was an introductory session then increased the intensity throughout the session to test the students to make it fun and challenging. Over 150 students were involved in this fantastic Norfolk School Games Day and for most students it was the first time trying these sports and got many opportunities to develop their skills.

Well done to all the students who overall said they really enjoyed the event and took a lot away from it. Schools involved were Cliff Park Ormiston Academy (East Norfolk), Iceni Academy (Breckland), Ormiston Victory Academy (West Norwich & Dereham), Kings Lynn Academy (West Norfolk), Open Academy (Norwich East), Wymondham College and Framingham Earl (South Norfolk), North Walsham (North Norfolk) and Jane Austen (Norwich).

We’d like to thank the fantastic deliverers who made the sessions engaging and fun for everyone as well as the leaders from West Norfolk SSP – Springwood High School who supported and encouraged throughout.
