Will you be taking part in the Norfolk School Games Active Week?

The Norfolk School Games Active Week is a week-long focus on getting pupils more active from the 21st of June, as part of the National School Sport Week 2021.

This could be at school creating some new ideas for your PE lessons, during break times, or at after-school clubs. Why not try to get a bit more active at home? It could be as simple as taking the dog for a walk or meeting friends to the park for a kickabout.

Riding your bike or walking to school is also a great way to add up those active minutes and it also boosts your mental wellbeing, setting you up for the school day ahead.

Being more active doesn’t always have to mean being more ‘sporty’ …just by going outside and exploring nature is a great way to be more physically active.

Whether it be at school, at home, or by active travel, we want to support our young people and help them to be more active to get their bodies and minds back on track.

Over on the Norfolk School Games website you will find more information, opportunities and fun activities for pupils and schools to use during the week. All to help get pupils more physically active in line with the 60 Active Minutes agenda.

There will be lots of ideas for all to access but with a particular focus on Transition, Active Travel, Girls, and Health & Wellbeing.

If you haven’t had enough fun already during our Active Week then, back by popular demand, we have our Colour Run on Friday the 25th of June. So go and grab as many colourful clothes as possible, get family members involved too, get dressed up and go for a run or walk.

Don’t forget to tag us during the week on social media to let us know what you have been up to. Tag us on Instgram and Facebook using @NorfolkSchoolGames and over on Twitter using @NorfolkSchGames !

Also, if you would like a special visit to your school from our Norfolk School Games mascot bear just email us at schoolgames@activenorfolk.org and he could make an appearance at your school on the 25th June.

For a chance of winning a £50 voucher or a Norfolk School Games goody bag, make sure to fill in either our Primary Activity Tracker or our Secondary Pupil Survey, both of which can be found on the Norfolk School Games website/ Just click on the ‘Active Week’ tab.

Schools can also be in for a chance of winning a £250 equipment voucher by filling in our school Survey.
