2015 Norfolk Summer School Games Finals – Day 6 Report

They do say “save the best until last” and it could be argued that we did just that on Day 6 of the Games. The final day of the 2015 Norfolk Summer School Games Finals saw over 600 pupils from across Norfolk taking part in Yr 7-10 Athletics Finals held at the Sportspark in Norwich.

The event was blessed with stunning weather all day long, although, the hot conditions meant that athletes had to try and find some shade and drink plenty of fluids in order to keep hydrated for their events.

Pupils took part in a range of athletic event that challenged their running, throwing and jumping skills. All events were run based on guidelines from England Athletics. The event was supported by volunteer officials from the City of Norwich Athletics Club (CoNAC).

There were a number or notable performances on the day with many young athletes acheiving personal best performances. You can view the full breakdown of results from each event inluding times/distance by clicking here.

Pupils were awarded points for their SSP depending on their finishing position within their event. At the end of the event the results were announced for the winning SSP. The overall results were;

1st – South Norfolk SSP (533 pts)

2nd – Norwich SSP (456 pts)

3rd – East Norfolk SSP (452 pts)

4th – West Norfolk SSP (440 pts)

5th – West Norwich & Dereham SSP (420 pts)

6th – Norwich East SSP (391 pts)

7th – North Norfolk SSP (316 pts)

8th – Breckland SSP (291 pts)
