Summer 2018 Day 2-Top Teamwork at Panathlon!

Another jam packed day at the Summer Games and we were back at Sportspark for the Primary Panathlon. The event was held by The Panathlon Challenge, a national charity which runs sporting opportunities for children with a special education need or disability (SEND). Children from mainstream and special schools were invited to represent their school sports partnership at the event and the excitement of the competition was felt from the start!

A total of 5 schools took part in 10 different activities including polybat, table cricket and skittles. Teams spent a total of 7 minutes at each activity collecting as many points as they could for their team before moving on to the next. Leaders from Wymondham College scored and encouraged the competitors and were fantastic throughout. A huge thank you for their help today.

After all points were collected and counted up, the results were as follows:

1st– Diamond Academy

2nd– Firside Junior

3rd– North Denes Primary

4th– The Clare School

5th – John Grant School

Well done to all teams who took part. There was great teamwork throughout the day and lots of encouragement for each other. We’d like to thank the deliverers from The Panathlon Challenge who ran the event today and ensured all competitors had great fun. Click here to see photos from the day.

Tomorrow will see more young children compete in the school games with the Primary Quadkids competition taking part at Sportspark. You can find out more about other events happening throughout the week on our social media pages.
