It was a day of fast-paced fun & plenty of action as 16 teams competed in the West Norwich & Dereham SSP School Games Sportshall Athletics Competition at the UEA Sportspark.
Over 300 children took part in the days activities, as 12 Schools battled it out in the Big Schools competition and 4 Schools took part in the Small Schools event. Adam from Sportshall UK was on hand to ensure the atmosphere was electric throughout and the enthusiasm levels never dipped below 100%!
Through a combination of track and field events, the children scored points for their School and each & every one of them can be proud of the effort they put in. In amongst the fierce competition it was great to see so many children enjoying themselves and it all combined to make a fantastic event that must have looked great to the watching parents.
The Big & Small Schools were competing in separate Boys & Girls competitions, and after the Athletic events were all finished the Top 3 in each were as follows…
Big School Girls – 1st TOFTWOOD JNR, 2nd DRAYTON JNR, 3rd DEREHAM JNR
Big School Boys – 1st DRAYTON JNR, 2nd TOFTWOOD JNR, 3rd FIRSIDE/DEREHAM JNR (Tie)
Small School Girls – 1st LYNG, 2nd GT.WITCHINGHAM, 3rd HOCKERING/GARVESTONE (Tie)
