2015 Norfolk Winter School Games – Day 4 Report

Day 4 of the Games saw young people from across the County travel to Diss Rugby Club to take part in the 2015 Norfolk School Games Tag Rugby Finals. The event included two separate competitions; an open Yr 5-6 competition for schools of any sized and a Yr 4-6 small schools competition for schools who have less than 125 pupils.

During the morning session, teams were split into two pools within each competition with teams playing against each other in a round robin format. Once all of the matches were completed and the results were added together, the teams that finished in 1st and 2nd place in each pool were invited to take part in the afternoons Cup Competition, with the teams that finished 3rd and 4th in each group going into the Plate competition.

Both the Plate and Cup competitions were again split into two pools with approx. 4 teams in each. The afternoon saw some close matches with teams coming up against other teams of similar abilities. At the end of the afternoons matches the teams that finished in 1st place in each pool competeted against each other to decide the final overall placing for the days competition.

2nd – Falcon Junior School (Norwich East SSP)

3rd – Cliff Park Junior School (East Norfolk SSP)

Plate Competition  

1st – Mundesley Junior School (North Norfolk SSP)

2nd – Heacham Junior School (West Norfolk SSP)

3rd – Mulbarton Junior School (Norwich SSP)

Small Schools Competition

Cup Competition

1st – Coltishall Primary School (Norwich East SSP)

2nd – Wreningham Primary School (South Norfolk SSP)

3rd – Corpusty Primary School (West Norwich & Dereham SSP)

Plate Competition

1st – Antingham & Southrepps Primary School (North Norfolk SSP)

2nd – Bawburgh School (West Norwich and Dereham SSP)

3rd – Wimbotsham & Stow School (West Norfolk SSP)
