‘Howzat’ for a great day of Girl’s Cricket!

As part of the first day of the 2019 Summer Norfolk School Games the Girls Kwik Cricket Finals were held at Manor Park – the home of Horsford Cricket Club.

16 teams from across the 8 School Sports Partnerships in Norfolk took part meaning there were over 150 girls from Years 5/6 enjoying the Cricketing fun in the sun.

The 16 teams taking part were split into 4 groups, playing matches against the other teams in a round-robin format. Once these were all finished, the Winners & Runners-Up from each group went forward into the Cup competition, whilst the 3rd and 4th placed teams entered the Plate competition.

After a day jam-packed with boundaries, wickets & spectacular catches the final standings were…

1st – St. Williams (Norwich East) for the 4th year in a row!!!!

2nd – Dussindale (Norwich East)

3rd – Preston (South Norfolk)

Plate Winners – Cringleford (Norwich)… 9th overall
