Day 4 of the Norfolk Winter School Games was blessed with beautiful sunshine for the Tag Rugby Finals at Diss Rugby Club. The event saw the top 16 teams from big schools (120 pupils+) from across the county, as well as the top 16 teams from small schools (< 120 pupils) come together to battle it out to be crowned Norfolk School Games Champions. The teams were representing their local School Sport Partnership (SSP) and each of them had earned their place by taking part in local qualifying competitions run the the 8 SSPs in Norfolk.
The morning session saw teams randomly put into groups of 4 teams who played against each other in a round robin format. The results of these matches were calculated at the end of the morning with the top two teams being entered into the cup competition and the bottom two teams going in to the plate competition.
As the afternoon session prgressed the standard of rugby rose even higher as players learned the best tactics to use and how to play together as a team. The levels of competition also rose as players (and spectators) started to think about the possibility of their team being crowned 2014 Norfolk School Games champions.
The event was run inpartnership with Diss Rugby Club who not only hosted the event at their home ground but also provided offcicials to referee the matches.
Once the afternoons matches had been completed, play offs were undertaken to decide the final 1-16 rankings for teh competition.

In the small schools cup competition Hempnall Primary School were announced as the winners
